This is a major retrospective of the influential fashion photography of Richard Avedon, spanning nearly six decades. Encompassing six decades of extraordinary work, "Avedon Fashion 1944-2000" includes more than 200 works by Richard Avedon, from vintage prints and magazine layouts to contact sheets and personal correspondence. Showing Avedon's groundbreaking early work for Harper's Bazaar to his later work at "Vogue", "Egoiste" and "The New Yorker", this volume represents a major retrospective of the photographer's work. The book has been assembled by Carol Squiers, curator at the International Center of Photography and photography critic Vince Aletti.

Product Information

Carol Squiers is a curator at the International Center of Photography. She has contributed to a wide variety of books and journals, including Artforum, the New York Times, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Parkett, Art in America and Aperture. Vince Aletti is adjunct curator at the International Center of Photography. He reviews photography exhibitions for The New York's Goings on About Town and was the art editor of The Village Voice from 1994 to 2005. Philippe Garner is the head of photography and design sales at Christie's London.
