Lee Singh's creativity comes from his Dad, who would draw, paint and make toys for him and his brother when they were growing up. Lee rediscovered his love of picture books when he had his own children and was particularly inspired by books with pop ups and novelty features. Lee would often take the books apart to learn about how the mechanisms worked and it was while doing this that he came up with the idea for 'ABC&Do' - his first book with Egmont. Jim Helmore and Karen Wall live in South London. Karen still works as a textile designer when she's not creating books, and Jim has worked in the publishing industry. They have won the picture book category of the Sheffield Book Award for their first book, Letterbox Lil (OUP), and received the silver Practical Parenting award for 'Who are you, Stripy Horse' in 2007. Other than 'Stripy Horse', they have also published 'Oh No, Monster Tomato!' (Egmont) and 'Letterbox Lil' (OUP)
