Author(s): Fred Leeman

Art

People all around the world know the name of Vincent van Gogh. He has become an artist of mythical proportions. Millions of people are touched by his paintings and they have at least a notion of his tragic life. The short life and great work of van Gogh confront us with the real meaning of success. This package contains two complementary items: an audiobook (fifty minutes) and an illustrated book (fifty pages). The audiobook tells the story of van Gogh's struggle for recognition. We realise that the image of Van Gogh as a creative madman is far from the truth. Between the periods of mental illness that impede his last two years, he created great art with a clear view of what he wanted to achieve and with awe-inspiring energy. The book that goes with the audiobook tells the story of Van Gogh's rise to fame after his death.
