This is a thrilling tale of smuggling and corruption set amongst the Dorset coast, when a young orphan boy stumbles upon a discovery that will transport him from his ordinary life into a world of treachery, danger and stolen diamonds. It is stunningly illustrated by Alan Marks, who also illustrated the "Young Reading" titles - "The Railway Children", "Black Beauty" and "The Snow Queen." It is developed in consultation with Alison Kelly, who is a senior lecturer in education and an early reading specialist from Roehampton University, and Dr Erika Langmuir OBE, a distinguished art historian.
